Description:
At close to 75,000 square miles, the Pantanal is the world’s largest tropical wetland. The Pantanal represents a mosaic of habitats with about 80% a seasonal floodplain during the wet season in December to March. This trip in September was targeted at the end of the dry season when birds and wildlife concentrated near shrinking waterholes in the region. This program will highlight the birds and other wildlife encounter during the “safari-like” tour of this region via truck and boat. This was an Academy of Natural Sciences trip with Hillstar Nature. George Armistead of Hillstar and Jason Weckstein of ANS were the “Philly” leads for this adventure. They, and other talented photographers on this trip have permitted me to use their fabulous photos as part of this presentation!

Each month's details will be updated approximately one month in advance. All are welcome!

The Wyncote Audubon Society is a Chapter of the National Audubon Society serving the nearly 2000 Audubon members who reside in major portions of Montgomery County and Philadelphia including Chestnut Hill, East Falls, Manayunk, Mt. Airy, Roxborough, North Philadelphia and Northeast Philadelphia.
