Preparing for Postpartum

Description: In this conversation, we will discuss how to: prepare mentally, emotionally, and socially for becoming a parent; to practice self-care and self-compassion as a new parent; ask for support from and set boundaries with your loved ones; to prepare for shifting relationship dynamics with your partnee; incorporate flexible expectations; distinguish between the baby blues and postpartum depression; create your own personalized postpartum wellness plan. Presenter: Julia Cuccaro-Green is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), board-certified dance / movement therapist (BC-DMT), and cultural/medical anthropologist. An adjunct professor at Drexel University and PA chapter of Postpartum Support International board member, through which she holds a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). She works in private practice, specializing in mental health related to preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, parenting, grief, identity, life stressors and transitions.
