It’s been nearly three weeks since a tornado swept through Upper Dublin Township, devastating residents’ homes and Township operations. We hope you and your families are safe; we are ready to assist in any way we can in the recovery of our community.
You may have noticed a lot of activity at the Library over the last few weeks. Here’s the latest:
Upper Dublin Police Department is moving in! 520 Virginia Drive will be the UDPD’s temporary home as their facility is rebuilt. Sections of the facility that had been mothballed for future use are currently being modified to house the UD Police Station and their operations. Library space and operations are not impacted by this move other than the opportunity it gives both our departments to work more closely together in future. If you see a Police Officer on your next visit, say hi and thank them for their important service to our community. Welcome, UDPD!
Upper Dublin Boards/Commissions will meet at the Library. Unless otherwise stated, all meetings of Township Boards & Commissions will be held in the 250-seat auditorium at 520 Virginia Drive due to damage to the Township Building from Hurricane Ida. All meetings/hearings will be held in person. The public is welcome to attend. You’ll also notice other displaced Township activities on the property. Recently, Upper Dublin High School’s Theater group held their inaugural meeting in the auditorium and the Shade Tree Commission’s annual Adopt a Tree program will be held in the parking lot on Saturday, October 9.
The Library is here to serve you. The Upper Dublin Library has ample study/work spaces, robust wifi, computers and printing/scanning services available if you or your Upper Dublin organization or school group has been displaced by Hurricane Ida. Please talk to a library staff member to assist you.
JUST IN! Evening hours are expanding Monday, October 4. The UDPL continues its efforts to restore the Library’s pre-COVID hours to provide you more access to our facility and services. We are pleased to announce that beginning Monday, October 4, the Library will remain open until 8:45 pm Monday–Thursday.
