We are proud to open our Nursing Parent Room at the Upper Dublin Public Library!
This room is just inside the Children’s Library and is open to parents who need a private space to feed their babies. It has a glider, a side table with an adjustable lamp, a cozy rug, and a small couch for older siblings with toys and books to keep them occupied.
Who is it for? Anyone who needs to feed their baby or pump breast milk.
How do you access it? Easy, just stop at the desk and let them know you’d like to use it. We will ask for your first name. And we ask that you stop by to let us know when you are done.
There is a lock on the inside to ensure privacy and a clock so you can stay on track of your busy schedule.
There’s even a wall decal that looks like a window overlooking a serene forest. The perfect way to relax and focus on your child!
We did research on how to create a peaceful nursing parent room. And thanks to the generous donors who gave last November to The Friends of UDPL’s Giving Tuesday dedicated fundraiser for furnishing the new room, we can now offer a clean, comfortable, safe, and private space for parents to relax and feed their babies.
Of course, parents are welcome to breast or bottle-feed throughout the library but for those parents or babies that need a quiet, private space, our new nursing parent room is now open!
