eLibrary: Can I check out eBooks or eAudiobooks from the Library?

Yes, the Library subscribes to multiple eBook platforms. Our biggest is Overdrive. You can see all of our eBook providers on our eRead page and all of our eAudiobook providers on our eListen page. UDPL also buys extra copies just for our patrons, so make sure you login before you browse.

eLibrary: How do I return an eBook or eAudiobook from Overdrive early?

It depends on your device. For the Overdrive app on iDevice or Android, including Kindle Fire: find the cover of the book, tap and hold until you get a menu which will give you the option to return early and delete. For the Kindle Reader, it is located in your Amazon account under Manage your Device. Find the book and click the “…” for options to return early. For more information, check out this article from Overdrive.

eLibrary: May I recommend an ebook & regular book for purchase?

Yes, you can! Be aware, not everything is available for purchase. However, to see what we can purchase, check here for instructions. Alternatively, you may send a message to Reference & Adult Services on our Contact Us page.

Fax: Does the Library have a fax machine?

We regret that we are unable to offer fax services in the library. In many cases, you may also scan and upload or email your documents, which we do offer. In cases where a fax machine is required, we usually send patrons to the nearest Fedex or UPS store.

Printing: Does the Library offer printing from your tablet or cell phone?

Yes! See our Wireless Printing page.

Scanner: Does the Library have a scanner?

The library’s main color photocopier can scan in black & white or color. Currently, scanning is free. Scanned files can be either saved to USB drive or to the scanning computer (next to the Print Release computer). Once scanned, files may be emailed, saved or uploaded. For more assistance, please see our scanning help document.

Wi-fi: Does the Library provide free wifi?

Upper Dublin Public Library has two free unsecured wi-fi networks provided by Upper Dublin Township for public use. The network name is UD_Wifi_E or UD_Wifi_W. E (for east) is located in the adult & teen area. W (for west) is located in the children’s and quiet room area. If your device  can see both, West is usually less crowded.

There are no passwords required and, if asked, connect without setting up. For more information, please see our wireless instructions.
