UDPL’s Museum Pass collection has been extremely popular since we first started lending passes just a few short years ago. Thanks to the Friends of UDPL, who fund the Museum/Arboreta Pass collection, the library now offers 17 places for you to visit for fun and enriching in-person experiences.
Whether it’s learning about dinosaurs at the Academy of Natural Sciences, enjoying breathtaking gardens at Chanticleer, strolling through Morris Arboretum, or admiring classic cars at the Simeone Auto Museum, there are so many passes to borrow and all are free with your library card! We even have a pass for the new Museum of the American Revolution. Now, UDPL is excited to offer an enhancement to the Museum Pass Collection—the ability for Upper Dublin residents to reserve the passes in advance, online! No more desperately hoping a pass is available on the day you want to use it; passes can now be reserved up to 90 days in advance.
The new system is easy to use and available at udpl.org. In the upper right hand corner, click on the “Museums” icon. You can then search passes by institution name or date availability. You’ll just need your library card to make a reservation. Passes can then be picked up the library or some museums will allow you to print the pass at home, for further convenience.
You can still walk-in (or call!) and ask at the library front desk to see what passes are currently available. If the pass you want is available, a staff member will place an immediate reservation and check it out for you on the spot. Let us know if you have any questions; we’re happy to help you with the new reservation system. Kick-off 2018 by reserving your passes to one of these amazing Philadelphia area cultural institutions!
