New Books to Watch for in 2017-2018

I was excited to have the opportunity to attend Book Expo America in New York City in May 2017.  Book Expo is the premier event for those in the book industry—from authors to booksellers, to, of course, librarians.  One of the best sessions I attended was the Adult Book Editors’ Buzz Panel.  The panel highlights a handful of the top breakthrough books that publishers think will be popular with readers in the near year.

I left the panel literally wanting to read every one of these books, so I thought I’d share the titles  and links with you, so you can place hold requests on the titles, or at least mark your calendars for when they’ll be out in the coming months!  I’ve included links to the publisher summaries of these books—these aren’t recommendations, since I haven’t had the opportunity to read them all yet, but a list of books that are already receiving lots of praise, even before their published!  It’s quite a diverse mix of topics and styles, so I hope you find one to look forward to reading!
