Attention Please

The “Reservation Date” is the day you plan on visiting the museum or institution. Passes may be picked up beginning at 10a the day of your reservation. Passes are then due at 9:30a the day following your reservation date.

For example, if your reservation date is Monday January 1, you may pick up your pass on Monday January 1 after 10a. You will need to return the pass to the library by Tuesday, January 2 at 9:30a.

In some cases, the pass may be available to pick up the day before your reservation date. Please call the Library at 215-628-8744 after 3p the day before your reservation to see if you may pick up early.

We cannot guarantee that you will be able to pick up your pass prior to your reservation date.

Museum Pass FAQs

How can I borrow the Library’s Museum Passes?

Upper Dublin residents (with library cards in good standing) may reserve passes online up to 90 days in advance.

How many passes can I reserve?

You may reserve up to 8 passes a calendar month and up to 2 passes a day.

Each individual museum pass may only be reserved once a calendar month.

Do I need to make a reservation with the museum before I visit?

In most cases you do NOT need to make a reservation with the museum. When  you arrive at the museum, all you need to do is show the library pass.

Chanticleer Gardens STRONGLY RECOMMENDS that you call ahead to reserve a parking space.

You will receive instructions on how to do this in the confirmation email you will receive after you make your reservation. There are also reminders on the passes themselves.

Please contact us via email at upperdublinlibrary@mclinc.org with any questions or concerns.

What if I don’t live in Upper Dublin?

Non-residents can still borrow available passes at the library on a first-come, first-serve basis or book online on the day of use. Call 215-628-8744 or see a staff member.

What are the overdue fees/and or replacement fees?

As of November 10, 2021, items returned late to the UDPL will no longer accrue daily overdue fines, and the UDPL will no longer collect them. This includes our Museum Pass collection. However, If you do not pick up your pass, or cancel your reservation more than a day before, the system will mark your account with a “no show.” Accounts with 2 no-shows will not be able to make reservations for 90 days. Remember, your pass today may be someone else’s pass tomorrow!

Replacement fees are the cost of the pass.

What is a “No-Show”?

If you do not pick up your pass, or don’t cancel your reservation more than a day before, the system will mark your account with a “no show.” Accounts with 2 no-shows will not be able to make reservations for 90 days.

Why are there fewer passes available than I remember?

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many museums and cultural institutions have had to reevaluate their membership programs. Some of the museums UDPL had passes for have discontinued their library pass program. Other museums have not yet reopened to the public.

UDPL is continuing to work with area museums and cultural institutions and will be offering more passes to more museums as soon as they become available.

Can I print museum passes at home?

The Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University is currently the only pass that can be printed at home. Instructions on how to print the pass will be emailed to you when you make your reservation.
