The UDPL seeks a librarian excited about sharing great books with families, educating children about the latest resources, and coordinating great interactive programs for kids and families, including in our new STEAM Lab coming in 2020. Reporting to the Head of Children’s Services, the incumbent in this position assists in the delivery of services for all children, as well as parents/caregivers and families with a focus on elementary to middle school age children (ages 5-14 years). Responsibilities include collection development, readers’ advisory, program planning & implementation and outreach.

Located in Fort Washington, PA, and open 66 hours/week, the UDPL is a bustling and much-loved resource for the 25,000+ residents of Upper Dublin Township and those who visit from neighboring communities. The UDPL maintains a collection of 110,000 tangible items plus a variety of virtual resources, like eBooks, 24/7. The Library circulates over 340,000 items annually and hosts diverse program offerings for all ages and interests, drawing attendances of over 20,000 people annually. Currently, the staff of the UDPL are excitedly preparing to move into a state-of-the art new facility in 2020, where we will improve services today and imagine new ones for future generations. Salary and Requirements: Starting at mid-$40s plus attractive benefits package. ALA-accredited MLS required. A genuine love of interacting with and educating visitors is a must. Work schedules are determined by departmental need, but this position requires morning, evening and weekend hours as well as flexibility in scheduling. EOE: M/F/H
