Introducing “This Made Me Think,” a series of musings on stuff that made me take pause, that stuck with me, that, well, made me think.
To get us started, here are a few things I saw on a recent jog around my neighborhood that made me think. Taking a moment to truly experience my surroundings helps me focus and better appreciate the world around me. I hope you and yours enjoy these last lovely (and, if possible, lazy) days of August. Put your device down and get out in the sunshine (apply sunscreen first, of course). What will you experience that makes you think? Snap a photo and share it with us!
Check out this mailbox filled with doggie treats. It’s uncertain which neighbor is providing these treats. I love the selfless anonymity as much as the thoughtful generosity. And what a nice surprise for dogs (and their owners) out for a walk!
I came across this clever planter made out of an old Nike sneaker as I was passing the middle school student garden. There’s also a rather fine herb garden here. Hmmm, I wonder if I am in need of something for dinner one night if anyone would mind my snipping some.
