Jewelry Sale – Were You One of the 99?

Waiting for opening time!

By 6:45am on Saturday October 23rd, the Fort Washington Fire Company had a crowd outside its doors.

More than 40 people waited for the 8am grand opening of the 12th Annual Jewelry Sale held by the Friends of UDPL.

Returning to the traditional open format from 8am-2pm, there were 99 sales totaling $2,663.
Add that to the $1,556 raised at the spring ‘by appointment’ jewelry sale, the Friends raised $4,219 in 2021– all from jewelry donated by library patrons!

Many thanks to you – the donors and patrons – and to the Fort Washington Fire Company!

Funds raised from this sale and other Friends events throughout the year pay for Library programs such as this fall’s Adult Learning Class “Rethinking the Art Canon” and October’s Bake Squad: Dracula’s Denture for grades 6-12.

Sale room at the fire house.
