Description:
Yoga, Tai-chi, Chinese herbs, acupuncture, mindfulness… many Asian traditions of health and medicine are now mainstream parts of American culture. This short “crash course” in Asian traditions of health and medicine will give participants a broad overview of these traditions focusing on their main ideas, their histories, and how they are practiced today around the world and in the US. While practitioners of Asian traditions are welcome to attend, no prior experience is required and practice will not be a part of the presentation.
Presenter: With almost 25 years of teaching Asian medicine to practitioners and university students, Dr Pierce Salguero is a leading scholar of Asian medicine, a professor at Penn State University, and editor in chief of the academic journal Asian Medicine.
