The Vikings in Italy

Description: For over half of a millennium, the Vikings made their mark from North America to the Middle East. They were influential in Russia, England, France, Spain, North Africa and their descendents conquered Sicily, Southern Italy and Antioch. Explore the Norman conquest of Italy, the Golden Age of Sicily and a live tour of the town of San Vito Dei Normanni, living legacy to the vestiges of Vikings/Normans in Italy. This course will be presented live on ZOOM from Italy for the first 3 sessions.
Instructor: Steve Pollack is a lecturer, performer and director. He is on the faculty of Continuing Ed at Temple Ambler, and speaks at libraries, colleges, and retirement groups. His lectures are often combined with live entertainment. He was educated at F&M and Fairleigh Dickinson, and was a recipient of the Mennen Fellowship for Music.
