FULL – Art Workshop – Linocut Printing

Dec 14, 2022 to Dec 14, 2022 6:30 - 8pm

Dates: Wednesdays 12/7 & 12/14
Time: 6:30p-8p
Age Group: Adults 18+

Program Location: STEAM Lab

Description: Explore the technique of linocut printing! Learn the process of creating and carving designs, then inking and impressing our designs onto card stock. Use this technique to create unique holiday or greeting cards. A cheaper alternative than wood carving or engraving, linocut printing was often used more than a century ago by amateurs, but when artists such as Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso started using linoleum in the 1940s and 1950s, its popularity grew.

No experience necessary. All materials will be provided.

Presenter: Debra Baseden, a graduate of the School of Visual Arts and a UDPL reference librarian, has worked extensively in this technique for the past four years. She has frequently donated her works as part of fundraisers for Jester Artspace in Wilmington, Delaware.

Registration: This program is FULL. To go on the waiting list, email LCummings@mclinc.org.
