Description:  The 1960’s saw a revival of American Folk Music, tied to the social issues of that turbulent decade. Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, David Crosby, Harry Chapin, Joni Mitchell, Richie Havens and many more brought their voices and lyrics to the spirit of traditional folk music inspired by Lead Belly, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger and others. This series explores the origins of American Folk Music and how it evolved to the 1960’s becoming a mainstream part of American music and culture.

Instructor: Steve Pollack has been participating in continuing education for over 20 years. He is on the faculty of Temple Ambler’s OLLI program, and teaches at many organizations in the greater Philadelphia/New York area.
