Description: This interactive class with physical therapist Patrice Erik will demonstrate how to live safely in your home as you age, including balance and fall prevention, home safety and modifications, breathing exercises, relaxation, energy conservation, posture and lifting techniques. Includes 2 additional talks by registered dietician Judy Thalheimer on the warning signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia and how they differ from early aging, as well as tips on healthy eating to prevent or treat chronic conditions.
Instructors: Patrice A. Erik is retired licensed physical therapist with an MEd and 43 years experience in acute care, private practice and home care. She taught cardiopulmonary physical therapy and consulted at many of the local PT universities.
Judy Thalheimer, RD, LDN, is a volunteer Community Educator with the Alzheimer’s Association and the managing editor of Tufts Health & Nutrition Letter.
