Description:  The Upper Dublin Chinese American Association (UDCA) and the Upper Dublin Public Library (UDPL) are co-hosting a 2023 Lunar New Year Celebration! In partnership with the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society (PCMS), we’ll present a musical demonstration and Q&A with world-renowned musicians Wu Man, pipa, and Hsin-Yun Huang, viola, in the Shanis Auditorium. Described as “rich, surprising, and full of beauty,” this duo offers a musical experience that combines the traditional and the contemporary. Come and ask your questions about the pipa, the traditional Chinese stringed instrument, and hear the musicians teach about the history behind their instruments and performance. Following the presentation, join the musicians in the STEAM lab for a reception featuring holiday food and cultural activities to celebrate Lunar New Year.

The UDSD Asian American Students and Families (AASF) committee, Guanghua Chinese School (GHCS), and Central Bucks Chinese-American Association (CBCA) will also jointly co-sponsor the celebration event and cultural activities.
