Oh! How I love to read a good book! (Especially one that draws me in to the story immediately!)  I am currently reading such a book.  Intriguing and mysterious, with two young girl characters telling their feelings in individual and separate chapters, this book is one which you must add to your list of “must read” children’s chapter books.

The intended audience is for children ages 8-12.  If you enjoy reading about children your age, you could soon find yourself immersed in this book entitled “The Swallow: a Ghost Story” by Canadian author Charis Cotter. Two girls, with very different personalities, meet and form a friendship which will benefit both of them.  Their relationship will eventually lead them to an encounter in the cemetery which is behind their homes.  Oh! I can’t reveal any more of the plot or it will spoil the story for you.  Read the book yourself on a cold winter evening, and it may produce shivers of a different kind than the cold weather yields!  Have fun! Curl up with a book that enables you to escape to another world!
