Philadelphia History Through Architecture FULL
Main Meeting Room
This winter series will focus on the architecture of Philadelphia within the context of the changing city. We will start with the architecture of the revolution and conclude with architecture of “eds and meds”, a common designation for Philadelphia’s current economy. We will consider some of the iconic monuments of the region, but also some lesser known structures that give a sense of how the built environment related to shifting patterns in the country and region.
Presenter Dr. Alice M. Rudy Price received a Ph.D. from Temple University, Tyler School of Art in 2014, specializing in nineteenth-century European art and culture. Dr. Price teaches modern and contemporary art and architecture at Temple University, Tyler School of Art and at Philadelphia University.
