
December is often a hectic month, ending as quickly as it begins. Proof of this is that it’s somehow already December 4th! Perhaps blame can be assigned to any number of holidays and celebrations often competing with end-of-the year deadlines.
Despite the busyness, there’s one constant that truly does make this a fantastic time of year for readers: “end-of-the-year” and “best book” lists! November/December spawn any number of these lists that are so much fun to peruse. You can agree with the picks or disagree with them (disagreeing is often more fun.) You can find gifts to give. You receive a fresh list that inspires your next reading list or confirms that you need to read a particular book. And the timing couldn’t be better, as winter begins to descend and your nightstand stack needs plumping-up.
