This morning I went to visit an area preschool and kindergarten class and when I walked in the door my heart melted. I was greeted with, “Miss Jenn, Miss Jenn, Miss Jenn!” The kids were very excited to see me and to hear a few stories. Even when there was a chance I had to visit another classroom, they were gracious and understanding. They were even more thrilled when I was able to visit them anyway. We read a few stories and laughed together. We discovered what poetry was and how fun it can be. We learned you should never feed a penguin chili. We played “I Spy” and they guessed them all correctly. They learned the definition of daring, and I’m sure are using the word liberally.
I’ll see them again soon, but in the meantime the call of, “Miss Jenn what books did you bring?” will ring in my ears.
