2019 Year End Book Report by Miss Jenn

Jenn, our children's librarian

It is that time of year again when I reflect on all the books I have read. I did not reach my goal of 150 books, but I had quite a bit going on this year and refuse to be upset by it. I finished the year with 135 books read, which is not too shabby. As I am looking at my list it strikes me as a well-read list. I read a variety of books. I read children’s chapter books, graphic novels, nonfiction, young adult fiction and nonfiction, and adult fiction and nonfiction. I definitely gravitate towards certain genres though. Middle grade (children’s chapter books) fantasy and historical fiction are top on my list. Young adult books are mostly fantasy on my list and adult books are mainly nonfiction history books.

I have entered all my books into Goodreads to tally up my year in books, it’s pretty neat to see all the information laid out nicely.

What did you read this year? Did you challenge yourself? I did with some of the adult fiction I read. What is on your ‘Too Be Read’ pile for next year? Mine is more of the same. Maybe I should challenge myself and find a few books I would never pick up on my own? Do you have any suggestions for books I should read? Send me an email at jroberts@mclinc.org !
